Identity Thoughts
As a new man in Christ….We no longer have a Sin Nature. What?!! you say…We are reborn, brand new in our Father’s eyes. Clean, no sin, by the Blood of Jesus. What we have are Sinful Habits. So, this being the truth about the life we live..Why would we focus on things of the past?
“Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2Corinthians 5:17 (TLV)
Paul, writing to the Philippians says in 3:13-14, “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself as having taken hold of this, But this one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua.”(TLV)
He is not looking back, or behind or in the past or whatever you want to call it….he is saying we should be looking Forward, always..no excuses! When we focus our thinking on Him, on things above…We are aligning ourselves with His thoughts…Which, by the way, are higher than ours..lol. Jesus is the lover of our souls, always wooing us upward toward Him.
